Cheroot holder
Prague, Bohemia, around 1860
Meerschaum, amber. A holder for a cut cigar (cheroot) with an amber button mouthpiece. A young female figure in a hat with flowing ribbons is seated at the bottom curve. Dressed in a sheer robe, a garter and stockings, she is holding a lute in her hands. A bird is perched opposite her. The holder is stored in a leather case printed with the name of the producer inside: “K. SOUDEK PRAHA VODIČKOVA UL.48/PRAG WASSER GASSE 48.”
